In a recent decision of the 1st Chamber of Business Law of the Court of Justice of São Paulo, the judges granted urgent protection to force a competing company to change its corporate name and prevent the use of a corporate name in the exercise of its activity, because they believe that the protection of the corporate name established by the Civil Code would extend to the entire Brazilian territory.
